Rotterdam has a history that dates back to 1270 when a dam was built on the Rotte River. This led to the formation of a community around the dam for protection. By 1340, Rotterdam earned its city status from the Count of Holland and gradually evolved into an important hub for logistics and commerce. With the onset of the Industrial Revolution, changes swept across the globe, increasing interdependence among nations. In 600 years, Rotterdam transformed from a modest fishing port to the largest port in Europe, thanks to the efforts of numerous forward-thinking individuals.
For this event, we're thrilled to have you here in this remarkable location at the Port of Rotterdam. It's been a year since the last Ocean Port Seminar, so we're excited to bring it back.
